At the corner of Eltham High Street and Well Hall Road lies a quaint and charming church, picture perfect with an old cemetery – headstones weathered over the years and rustic stonework on the church’s exterior.
A fabulous weekend to explore and switch off from city life, although city surrounds this peaceful scenery with shops and flats popping up in the backdrop.
Serenity still finds its way in and brings calmness to a rather hectic city.
Many headstones left untouched…
…while others have been tended to.
Of course, there are the vandalized ones…
…and those more geriatric – leaning and weathered.
Oldest I was able to read was this one from 1783.
This was a great way to spend a nice, sunny, spring day. Church was in service, as well, which added to the ambiance of the day.
